We will be putting the kits together after Sunday service in the fellowship hall on 2/21/10. We have ordered 200 kits which will equip 40 caregivers and treat up to 400 patients for an entire year! Please encourage your HC members to participate. With a little help from everyone, this event will go very quickly but have a huge impact on many lives.
To answer some questions that have come up:
1) Do I have to buy the supplies myself?
No, we have ordered all the supplies and World Vision will deliver them to church. All we need to do is assemble the kits/refill packs and pack them into boxes for pickup.
2) How much does a kit cost, and how do I pay?
Each kit is $28 and covers the cost of the supples and shipment to their remote destinations. Please make your checks out to NLF with "aids caregiver kits" and your HC name written in the memo section. You can also include or offering ID. Cash is also okay. Eric Chu will be our money man so please give your donation to him by the day of the event. We will then send one payment to World Vision.
3) How many kits should I pack?
As many as you can!! We will need each HC to average 5 kits in order to reach our goal of 200. Again, please ask your HC members this Friday if they will participate, and email me this weekend how many kits your HC will pack. If each family packs 1-2 kits and each single packs 1 kit, I think that we should be fine. Maybe 2 singles to a kit if the are financially strapped. I know these can be hard economic times for many, but even in our "poverty" we are rich compared to world standards. More so, we are rich in spirit through Christ so please give generously.
